Andrew Gillum Found in an ‘Inebriated State’ on the Scene of a ‘Possible Drug Overdose’

Andrew Gillum

Former Florida Gubernatorial candidate Andrew Gillum was found in a hotel room on Miami Beach with what appeared to be drugs.

The report we obtained says he was in the room with two other men.

The address given is 1100 West Ave in Miami Beach.   A google search of that address brings up the Mondrian South Beach hotel.

The report says Miami Beach Fire Rescue went to the scene early Friday morning and treated one of the men for a “possible drug overdose”. The victim was Travis Dyson.

The two other men in the hotel room were Aldo Mejias and Gillum.

Tallahassee’s former Mayor was not arrested but the police report says he “was unable to communicate with officers due to his inebriated state”.

The report says the police found “three small clear plastic baggies containing of suspected crystal meth on the bed and floor of the hotel room”.

Gillum issued a statement that says,  "I was in Miami last night for a wedding celebration when first responders were called to assist one of my friends.  While I had too much to drink, I want to be clear that I have never used methamphetamines.  I apologize to the people of Florida for the distraction this has caused our movement.

“I’m thankful to the incredible Miami Beach EMS team for their efforts.   I will spend the next few weeks with my family and appreciate privacy during this time.”
