VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena was all laughs Friday night as Katt Williams “Heaven on Earth Tour” came to Jacksonville and he didn’t disappoint as it was a night of Hip Hop with performances from The Lady of Rage, and Lil Mo and comedy legends like Mark Curry, Melanie Comacho, and Red Grant.
One of the performers of the night was comedian Tommy Davidson, and he took time out of his schedule to talk to me about his longevity from performing on stage opening for Luther Vandross, and Patti LaBelle to being on the iconic TV sketch comedy show In Living Color working with the Wayans family, Jim Carrey, Jamie Foxx and others who tuned into comedy royalty.
Recently, Tommy Davidson made his return to television on BET+ with his iconic character from the Martin show Varnell Hill bringing back ‘90’s nostalgia and introducing himself to a new generation of fans.
With over forty years of making people laugh through film, stage, and as the patriarch of the ‘Proud Family’ Tommy Davidson is continuing to reinvent himself paving the way for the next generation of comedians.
