Bedford police said they went to Heller’s home, which she shared with her mother, with a search warrant and found the body inside. Police said Heller’s mother had not been seen by other family members for several months.

In a release, police said an autopsy by the medical examiner found that Heller’s mother died of natural causes in May 2021.

Bedford police are also working with federal investigators because the police said Heller’s mother’s social security payments had still been paid to her in the months following her death, WFXT reported.

Heller is scheduled to be arraigned on Jan. 6, 2022.
