Taraji P. Henson says when she went home recently she pulled out a drawer in the kitchen and “it just disintegrated in my hands...in two or three pieces”. That’s when she says she knew it was time for a makeover.
“It’s a bit dark in there too. I just want to bring more life and light into the house”.
The Empire star's dad passed away in 2006 which left her stepmom in the home in Maryland.
She says when he first died she was “left alone” with it was hard for her stepmother.
“We just kinda want to make the house hers now and still keep my dad in it.”
Henson decided to turn to Houzz for the renovation.
