Lupita Nyong'o graces the cover of Grazia UK but there seems to be an issue with the photo.
According to the Kenyan actress the magazine “edited out and smoothed” her hair.
The Academy Award winner says she’s made it clear that when she was younger she may have had a problem with her “dark skin and kinky, coily hair” but now she knows both are beautiful.
Nyong’o released this statement via Instagram and the magazine responded the same way, via Instagram.
Grazia UK says they did not “make any editorial request to the photographer for Lupita Nyong’o’s hair to be altered on this week’s cover, nor did we alter it ourselves”. The magazine apologized for what happened.
