We've been hearing more and more about the long-awaited sequel to the late 80's Eddie Murphy movie, Coming to America.

It's now public that John Amos (Cleo McDowell and owner of McDowell's) (Akeem's future Princess/Queen, Lisa McDowell) will reprise their roles in Coming 2 America.

In the 1988 original, Murphy's character, Prince Akeem, leaves the fictional African country of Zamunda to go to Queens, New York, to find a wife. The new story has Akeem returning to America as he finds out he had a son he never knew about in Queens.

We told you about a week ago that Leslie Jones is in talks to join the cast (there are conflicting reports about whether she's actually inked the deal) and Wesley Snipes (new role:  ruler of a neighboring country) as well as James Earl Jones (King Jaffe Joffer, Akeem's father) are already on board.

We still haven’t heard what role Leslie Jones would play but we do know Akeem does have a daughter.   She will be played by actress Kiki Layne.

We also already know who will design the costumes, Ruth E. Carter.   Carter won an Oscar for her work on Black Panther.

Coming 2 America is set to be released some time next year.
