The Hot 106.5 family is proud to celebrate one of our own, Shelby, on receiving one of radio’s highest honors: induction into the National Black Radio Hall of Fame on September 19 in Charlotte, North Carolina.
A South Florida native, Shelby, began her radio career more than 20 years ago at 99 Jamz as a board operator. Through hard work and dedication, she rose through the ranks to become Music Director and a highly respected Midday Personality.
Beyond broadcasting, Shelby is widely recognized for her commitment to community service and philanthropy. Her impact earned her recognition as an Unsung Hero by the City of Miami Gardens. She was also named by Legacy Magazine as one of South Florida’s Most Influential and Prominent Women in Business and Industry in 2017.
A proud alumna of Bethune-Cookman University, Shelby continues to inspire listeners every day. You can hear her weeknights at 7 p.m. on Hot 106.5, The Soul of Duval.
Congratulations, Shelby Rushin, on this well-deserved honor!
